Volunteer Opportunities

Join our team to conserve natural resources in Okanogan County!

We are recruiting for the following volunteer positions:

   

Youth Education Assistant(s)

Role: Assist Conservation Educator to deliver programs to school-age youth throughout Okanogan County.

Schedule: During the school day; actual schedule varies. Highest need is in May, especially Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Program and travel times vary; can be anywhere between 2 and 8 hours.

Requirements:

  • Pass a Washington State Patrol Background Check.
  • Maintain positive and professional attitude with a wide variety of youth in various situations.
  • Able to work outside, lift up to 50 pounds and walk over uneven terrain.

Digital Photo Archivist

Role: Organize and categorize a large volume of digital photographs.

Schedule: Flexible; between 8 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday at the District office in Okanogan.

Requirements:

  • Good computer (PC) skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to develop effective filing systems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

The District hosts a number of volunteer events (habitat restoration, creek clean-ups, etc) suitable for individuals or groups. Please contact us if you would like to be informed when these events take place.
