Farm Bill Funding Info Session

Could you use some support for projects on your farm, ranch or forest land? Many opportunities are coming up through Farm Bill programs!

Come to the NRCS informational session on Wednesday, November 16 at 6:00 pmat the Okanogan County Commissioners’ Hearing Room.

The Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Okanogan Conservation District will be hosting an informational session to inform land managers about NRCS Farm Bill programs, and how to direct future funding in our region. NRCS has opportunities next year for projects that improve on-farm water and energy efficiencies, agricultural productivity, forest health, wildlife, and more.

Eligible activities include seasonal high tunnels, organic and transitioning organic projects, livestock watering and fencing, and upgrades to increase irrigation efficiency.

During the session, NRCS and Conservation District staff will share:

  • Upcoming funding directions and eligible farm/ranch/forest projects
  • How to enroll in NRCS programs
  • How to participate in the Local Work Group process, which directs regional funding
  • Question & answer with local staff
